About the Role

We are excited to invite an enthusiastic accounting student to join our corporate accounting team as an intern. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience at an international wood pellet company. Under the guidance of our accounting team, you will engage in various activities that support our month-end close process, account reconciliations, and more!

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Assisting with the month-end close process, including posting specific manual journals.
• Helping prepare financial reports for our Southern pellet operations.
• Preparing and reviewing key monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting tax compliance, audit queries, forecasting, and financial reporting as needed.
• Ensuring financial controls are well established and understood.
• Collaborating with the Finance Manager on business-unit-wide projects related to accounting standards and operational changes.

Who We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should ideally possess:

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in accounting.
• Proficiency with computers and finance software, especially Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of financial principles.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to develop good working relationships at all levels.
• Adaptability in communication style to suit various audiences.
