Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Shift: 12 Hour Variable Description: PICU EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED General InformationBeds: 15 bed Pediatric Unit; 5 Bed PICU Experience required: 1.5 years general nursing experience (system requirement) Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, only if greater than 2 years of experience (system requirement) Patient Types:Pediatrics: Patients 0-18 years of age and adult overflow (stable medical s/p appendectomy, s/p cholecystectomy, cellulitis, etc.). The diagnosis of these patients varies from respiratory illness, diabetes, septicemia, cellulitis, hyperbilirubinemia, neglect/abuse, mental health, trauma, neurology, and general surgeries. The general surgeries may include ear/nose/throat, gastrointestinal, urological, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and trauma.Advanced Care Pediatrics: Patients 0-18 years of age requiring critical or intensive care services.The most common disease entities you may care for in our Advanced Care Pediatrics Unit include but are not limited to acute and chronic respiratory insufficiency, circulatory failure, infectious diseases leading to major organ system dysfunction, endocrine and metabolic disorders, neurologic diseases, toxic ingestions/exposures, trauma, hematologic and oncologic disease.Patient Ratios:RN General Pediatrics - 1:5Advanced Care Pediatrics: 1:1-2Required Certifications:RN: BLS, PALS, NIHSS
