Job Description

Are you a proactive, detail-oriented technology leader who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment? Do you have hands-on experience managing IT systems, AWS environments, and vendor relationships? If you're comfortable wearing multiple hats and making strategic decisions while troubleshooting day-to-day tech issues, we want to hear from you.

Our Client is seeking an Agency Technical Director to oversee technology operations, infrastructure, and vendor relationships for a fast-paced digital agency. This role will be responsible for managing IT systems, ensuring website security, optimizing technology costs, and aligning technology solutions with business goals. If you're looking for a purely strategic role without rolling up your sleeves, this might not be the right fit.

You Will:

  • Oversee the agency’s technology environment, including hardware, software, cloud infrastructure, and web hosting platforms
  • Manage and maintain AWS environments, including server configurations, security settings, and performance monitoring
  • Serve as the primary liaison with technology and IT vendors, negotiating contracts, ensuring service quality, and identifying opportunities for cost savings
  • Ensure agency websites and digital properties are secure, including regular security audits, updates, and risk mitigation
  • Manage technology licenses and subscriptions, ensuring compliance and identifying efficiencies to reduce costs
  • Support internal teams with IT needs, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement technology policies, processes, and best practices
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery plans, and data protection strategies to safeguard agency and client assets
  • Monitor and improve agency workflows by identifying automation opportunities and implementing process improvements
  • Oversee internal and external access to digital tools, ensuring appropriate permissions and access controls are maintained
  • Advise leadership on technology trends, risks, and opportunities to ensure the agency remains innovative and competitive

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience managing IT and technology operations, preferably within an agency or small business environment
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS, and related cloud technologies
  • Experience managing website hosting, DNS, SSL certificates, and web security tools
  • Familiarity with managing vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and optimizing technology spend
  • Proven ability to develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Experience with both Mac and PC environments, including basic troubleshooting and network support
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills to identify technology cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced, creative environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred or equivalent experience

Logistics:

  • Start Date/Duration: Starting ASAP
  • Hours/Week: 40 Hours/Week
  • Onsite/Offsite: Hybrid & Flexible Schedule in Carmel, Indiana (Must live in the Central Indiana Region)
  • Laptop/Software Requirements: Client-Provided Laptop
  • Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
