Katy Hand & General Surgery

We are a dedicated hand surgery, general surgery private practice in Katy, TX, seeking a Patient Coordinator to join our friendly team. With a single physician and a supportive work environment, we offer a unique opportunity for professional growth and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Insurance & Billing: The c andidate must be proficient in medical billing; verify insurance details, manage patient payments and debts, and coordinate with billing and insurance companies.
• Scheduling: Arrange patient appointments and surgeries, and coordinate with hospitals for surgical procedures.
• Preauthorization: Obtain and manage preauthorization for surgeries and other procedures.
• Communication: Act as the primary liaison between patients, hospitals, and the practice. Ensure clear and empathetic communication.
• Record Keeping: Enter payments and manage medical records using electronic medical record systems, preferably eClinicalWorks.
• Administrative Tasks: Use Microsoft Word and Excel for various office tasks, maintain meticulous records, and manage time efficiently; knowledge in E-Cliniclal Works is preferred but not required.

Requirements:

• Ability to manage patient billing, and payments, coordinate insurance benefits, and work collaboratively with a billing company.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (preferably eClinicalWorks), Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and diligence.
• Ability to delegate office work but maintain good relationships with other staff members
