Wine Sales Manager (NY)

OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Wine Sales Manager who is self-motivated and willing to take on the challenge as our company expands into the New York City Metro area with a focus on Manhattan. We are looking for an experienced and self-starting individual who will take the initiative to manage existing on-and-off premise retail wine accounts as well as be able to develop new accounts. This candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing key accounts, and developing strategic partnerships within the wine industry. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, maintaining relationships with restaurants and retailers, and executing sales strategies to meet revenue targets. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of wines, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales.
RESPONSIBILITIESALL Responsible for calling on and developing on and off premise wine accounts
Actively manage and grow dedicated client list
Provide knowledgeable answers to client questions regarding products, pricing and availability
Maintain ongoing communication with clients via phone, email, and virtual chat
Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and client relationships
Service accounts by communicating thoroughly with clients to meet their needs
Handle customer complaints and escalate to management as needed
Work closely with Accounting Department to be compliant with NY state liquor authority
Remain knowledgeable on products offered
Ad hoc assignments assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in developing and executing sales strategies
Experience in wine sales or the beverage industry
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (a plus)
Able to provide valid ID/Documentation to obtain solicitor's permit for the New York State Liquor Authority
Wine qualification and/or willingness to complete WSET Level 2 Certified (preferred)
Proficiency with MS Office
Experience with using sales and lead tracking applications
Ability to prioritize and work independently
Frequent travel is required within New York and Fairfield County (CT)
