Job Description

We are looking for a Freelance Manager Textile Technology to support the print technical team for a womens lifestyle brand in New York, New York. This position manages the workflow of artwork, sending artwork to factories overseas, tracking strike-offs and managing timelines to meet milestones and communicating delivery times to cross function partners.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with manager and team leads
• Partner with print/graphic designers to get alignment for strike offs approval in order to match design intent
• Pass off prints, patterns, graphic packages to region and vendors for strike offs requests. Ensure strike offs, handlooms, knit-downs are received in preparation for milestone meetings.
• Meet with manager and Print/Graphic Designers to review print, pattern, graphics; submit comments on corrections with manager’s supervision to mills.
• Follow all print, pattern and graphics are captured and tracked via seasonal Centric tracking chart as main communication tool with global partners.
• Deliver print, pattern, graphic approvals on time; inform manager if deadline cannot be achieved.
• Work with manager and other Print Tech team members to learn printing techniques and limitations based on repeat, special layout for the raw materials and machine limitations.
• Manage fabric library for strike offs and reference files
• Knowledge of design layout
• Prepare artwork to be loaded into flex PLM and issue style numbers
• Ability to list colors in art
• Understanding of how art is scaled
• Knowledge of fabrication & printing restrictions
• Ensure colors are consistent within a style and collection
• Identifying artwork errors
• Work with leads to achieve artwork intention
• Understanding of markers
• Time Management; able to meet deadlines
• Seamless communication with manager
• Reviewing completed assignments, confirming all criteria met
• Recognizes the importance of accuracy

Required Qualifications:

• Proficient in Photoshop and Centric PLM
• Bachelor's degree (preferably with a concentration in apparel production management) or equivalent experience
• Basic knowledge of printing, yarn dyes, and graphic manufacturing.
• Ability to excel in high energy environment
• Detail oriented
• Ability to multitask
