SPECIALIST, SCHOOL & TEACHER PARTNERSHIPS

Position Overview:
Cincinnati Museum Center's (CMC) Learning Team reflects three audiences of focus: Community Engagement & Programs, School & Teacher Partnerships, and Museum Experience and Program Development. This position falls within the School & Teacher Partnerships team. School & Teacher Partnerships staff work with educators, schools, and other audiences to share informal education experiences that supplement curriculum and enrich learning. Through its Programs-on-Wheels outreach, CMC reaches 30,000-40,000 offsite participants each year. Through field trips and Programs-at-Union Terminal, CMC reaches 35,000-45,000 participants onsite.

Specialists for School & Teacher Partnerships present programs designed for students and groups in the community and at CMC.

The Specialist of School and Teacher Partnerships ensures that Learning programs/events: (1) Are on mission; (2) Make effective use of resources; (3) Are accessible and inclusive; and (4) Engage repeat participants and attract new ones.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Represent CMC with credibility, curiosity, and a sense of radical welcome by presenting classroom-based and large-format experiences in schools, at community locations, and at Union Terminal.*
Ensure that CMC group programs are credible, insightful, inspiring, and fun experiences across the lifelong spectrum of learning.*
Support a suite of programs that includes but is not limited to: educator professional development, field trips, Programs-on-Wheels, Programs-at-Union-Terminal, partner initiatives, and Ohio History Day.*
Work collaboratively with other team members, interns, and volunteers to create a cohesive and comprehensive visitor experience across CMC audiences and locations. Assist with other programs as needed.*
Steward respectful and productive relationships with school districts, educators, and other partners to help CMC increase its value and relevance to the formal and informal education community across the Greater Cincinnati region and beyond.

Education and Experience:
High school degree or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of experience presenting educational programs preferred.
Training or experience in History, Science, Art, Early Childhood Development, theatre, customer service, or other related field.

Comfort with operational details and ensuring safety through procedures
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license*
Use of personal vehicle to transport self and supplies to programs occasionally required. Comfortable driving a variety of passenger vehicles in a variety of conditions within the Cincinnati region, regularly up to one hour, and occasionally regionally beyond one hour.*
Early morning, weekend and/or evening hours required within 40-hour work week.*
Length of day varies seasonally based on number of programs scheduled.*
Majority of time is spent in classroom-type settings, which include schools, libraries, summer camps and a variety of other locations indoors and outdoors. Occasional time is spent in a typical office/exhibit environment.
Incumbent will be exposed to intermittent sitting and standing, keyboard usage, occasional bending, stooping, lifting, and typing.*
Some days will require fast-paced movement in schools and Union Terminal (including multiple flights of steps) and will be mentally and physically demanding.*
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods while presenting programs or assisting visitors.*
Must be able to move tables, chairs, boxes, and other equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. *
