Responsibilities As a Home Health Billing Specialist, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

 
General:

• Perform daily billing and collection processes for assigned payers
• Ensure no timely filing issues, credit balances, or unresolved balances
• Keep prior year balance percentage under 20%

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage billing and collections for assigned accounts
• Continuously develop knowledge of payer regulations and billing standards
• Communicate updates and regulatory changes to the team
• Handle timely appeals, adjustments, refunds, and denial research
• Follow up with payers to ensure prompt and accurate payments
• Maintain detailed and organized patient account documentation
• Use EMR and online portals to monitor and resolve accounts
• Work closely with the Revenue Cycle Manager and clinical teams

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Provide back-up support as needed
• Stay current on all assigned tasks and processe

Required Skills Home Health Billing Specialist candidates should have:

• Minimum college degree or equivalent work experience
• Strong computer skills
• Fast and accurate data entry
• Effective organization and communication skills
• Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment with excellent inter-departmental communications
• Excellent computer skills
